MdDS Insights from a Male Senior Citizen

My situation is unusual—male, 71 years old. I have back and forth rocking rather than side to side swaying. I have researched other possibilities but it is clear to me that what I am experiencing is MdDS.

I got MdDS going on 2½ years ago, after getting off a 30-day cruise. My wife and daughter provide support simply by recognizing that I have this condition.

For some this condition can be accepted as just a different life experience.

The feeling of constant movement is hard but it has rarely affected what I do on a day-to-day basis. I look at it as just a rather weird world that I live in. Finding the MdDS community, MdDS Friends, and knowing that others are coping with the syndrome is helpful. And knowing that there is research going on helps, too. ~Bill, age at onset late-60s

  1. I’ve had this for 19 months now, and I’ve switched from side to side swaying, back and forth rocking, and up and down bobbing periodically throughout. The bobbing is the worst 0/10 don’t recommend. Wish I knew what caused which motion! Happy to hear your family is supportive and you are coping okay.
