Exciting news! We just met the $2-for-$1, $50,000 Matching Donation Challenge and now we want to express our appreciation to the anonymous donors who made this challenge a reality.
Since August, the Foundation Board and everyone in the Yahoo! Support Group, MdDS Facebook Friends group, and families and friends, worked hard to meet the match and raise funds for MdDS research. It is uplifting to read the posts regarding commitments (both personal time and donations) to the identification of the cause and the cure for our dreaded disorder. Meeting the challenge will enable vital MdDS research to continue.
Thanks to everyone’s efforts, especially the anonymous donors’, continued research will solve the mysteries of MdDS.
Please take a minute to leave a message of thanks to the anonymous donors who made this challenge come to life!
I am also tremendously grateful to all our group members who walked or donated and especially grateful to our anonymous donors for making continued research possible to find a cure for MdDS. I have suffered with episodic MdDS for 20 years and am now no longer able to work. I have done my best to work with this disorder, but now have trouble with just getting breakfast together most days. Thank you for recognizing what a debilitating disorder it is and how painful our struggle has been. Thank you so much for continued hope. All the best to you!
A generous THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! I’m very grateful to everyone: our anonymous donors, those who help promote awareness, those who donate & those who pray for us. You all have provided much hope for not only myself but for my 3 children who depend on me immensely. Merry Christmas many blessings for 2012!
i can’t believe the amount of support we recieved! I am thrilled to know so many people care! Thanks to everyone for your generous donations! This gives me hope for the future!
We wish to thank everyone for giving their time, their resources, and their support in spirit by never giving up hope. Special thanks go to the anonymous matching donors, for giving us this gift of a chance to be normal again.
Thanks so much to all of our generous donors and to our anonymous donors for giving us much needed hope for a cure. Research is so important to determine the cause and cure for MdDS and with these donations, hopefully we will come much closer to the answers. As I head into my 6th year with MdDS, I look forward to the day that we can “stop the rock”.
Words cannot describe how grateful I am that someone was generous enough to offer such a large sum of money as a matching grant. As someone who has suffered from this dreadful condition since 2005 and see how it still affects my life on a daily basis, I thank everyone who contributed and also thank the reseachers who may some day find a treatment that will help reduce or eliminate our symptoms. Best wishes to all for a wonderful holiday season!
Thank you doesn’t begin to tell all of the donors how grateful I am. I know a lot of hard work and dedication went into making these incredible donations happen. It’s because of the generosity of these people, that we move steps closer to a cure.
God Bless You!!!!
As Marilyn said, “2012 will be our year of hope”. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the donors who made this hope possible. I am in my 11th year with MdDS and I never before felt that hope was this possible.
There are no words that could express how I feel .God Bless you all.I have suffered for four years.I had to leave my insurance agency of twenty years.I do want to have my life back and because of all of you I still have hope.I do not wish this disease on anyone.
Thank you to all who had a hand in making this happen. A very special thanks to the anonymous donor for your amazing generosity.
Thank you, EVERYONE, for all your incredible devotion toward this cause. Mal de Debarquement, I’ve found over the past ten months, can be shockingly debilitating, and carries such a huge personal, social, professional and economic cost to many of its sufferers. There are no words enough to express my gratitude to all our fundraisers, walkers, runners, anonymous donors, board members, article writers, radio interviewers, and anyone else who worked so hard, and obviously tirelessly, to make this happen. This outpouring of generosity and kindness, from those with MdDS, and those without, is a true testament to the goodness of humankind. There are so many causes and needs, and you all have chosen this one. Thank you SO MUCH!!!
I would just like to add my thanks to the donors who challenged us to pull together to make this match a reality for MdDS research. No words can express the hope that continued research into MdDS brings to each of those whose lives has been affected including our children, parents, spouses, and other family members who often feel helpless. They too live in hope of a treatment.
Thank you.
Deb
Thank you to the anonymous donor who inspired others to donate. My family and friends donated because of the incentive and also because they witnessed what I went through! I am so hopeful for a cure and any more advancements in this rare disorder. Thank you also to the researchers as well as the few doctors who effectively and compassionately treat patients! I am grateful that after two years of torture, my MdDS is mostly under control at this time.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your generousity. What an amazing gift we have been given. Hope. Bring on the cure. Cheers to you all!
Thanks to the Board who’s worked tirelessly to make this kind of effort possible, for the Support Group and Marla who bind us together in a circle of hope, for everyone who went outside of their comfort zone and asked others to contribute, and those family and friends, like Hayley, that went the extra mile, to drum up enthusiasm for our effort. And, of course, thanks a million to our anonymous donors, who have honored us all by acknowledging the shattering effect of MdDS with their extreme generosity. Here’s to a treatment or cure!
Thank you ,thank you, thank you to the donors that made this possible and to the people who organized the fund drive. This is a huge accomplishment. I have Had MdDS seven years next April. It gives me great joy to know see how far we have come and to know that some day there will be an answer to our many questions and a cure for this condition.
I wish to let all donors know how grateful I am for such generosity. It is so important to all of us who suffer with MdDS. The person who matched our donors is really a very special one and what knows how this money will help all who suffer. Thanks to whoever you all. Wish I was in a position to help but circumstances beyond my control hinder me from doing so… I apologize for this.
I am so thankful that our generous donors continue to be tremendously supportive of our continuing research into the cause of and treatment of MdDS. If it were possible, I’d like to meet and thank every person who made a donation in order to make this match possible.
Looking forward to 2012, a year of hope!
Marilyn
A heartfelt “thank you” to the anonymous donors and the group members who worked so hard to meet the challenge. The generosity of the donors and the efforts of the members is truly inspirational and keeps hope alive for those of us living with MdDS.
My family and I are grateful to all who are working and donating to find a cure and a special thanks to the anonymous donors!
Thank You!!! There really are no words to express my gratitude. Money for research feels like air to a scuba diver, it really is my lifeline or only chance for an improved life.
There are really no adequate words to express how grateful all of us who suffer with MdDS are for everything that has been done. To all donors — thank you so very much for your sacrifice. To our anonymous matching donors — we are humbled by your generosity and will be forever grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing to help us. May God bless your giving spirit and may everything you give be returned to you multiplied.
In Feb. I will have MdDS for 11 years. It has cost me my job and ability to work in the medical field. I don’t want to see another person go through the trials and life altering events that I endured. Thanks to your generous donations the research will continue into finding a cure for us.
Thank you to all who made this possible.
Elaine Schlissel
I will have MdDS six years in February. Thank you so much to all that donated= to be able to continue to have research to one day, hopefully soon find a cure.
Thanks to all who had a hand in making this happen (meeting the match!). The next year offers great promise for MdDS research. Congratulations to all who had a hand in making this happen, including the donor who agreed to match 2 for 1. Hope continues to keep this effort afloat. I look forward to the day when we’re only helping ‘newbies’ to effective treatments and cures!!!
